Love + Pray + Gather + Serve

Above all, maintain constant love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without complaining. Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received. Whoever speaks must do so as one speaking the very words of God; whoever serves must do so with the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:8-11

God does not need your good works, but your neighbor does.

This Is Christ’s Church

There is a place for you here.

We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world.

Our Worship Tradition

As Lutherans, we are a "liturgical" church. We worship in a style which is similar to what the church has done for centuries. The core of our faith is traditional, but our practice is contemporary and our services are casual. We believe in a God of truly unconditional Love. We follow a common lectionary of Bible readings in our services, which is used by many other churches. This gives us a sense of common experience with others even though they are not in our building. And children are always welcome!

Do you have to be Lutheran?

Not by a long shot. Members from First Lutheran come from many church backgrounds. Only a third of the membership are life long Lutherans, the other two thirds come from a variety of other Christian churches and even non-christian backgrounds. We are a big tent. At First Lutheran we care less about where you come from, we care more that you will hear an unrelenting confession of God’s grace and love for all people. This is the Gospel or Good News at the very heart of Lutheran Spirituality.

What does being Lutheran mean? Don’t take our word for it. What does Wikipedia say about our faith?

We are excited to meet you. Please join us for coffee, tea and refreshments following our worship service sunday mornings. Here you can meet our pastor and connect with others.

We invite all children to join us.

They are welcomed at our Services and we have a childrens room in the Library just next to our Sanctury.  We also invite children of all ages to join our “Godly Play®” program for our youth.  It meets Sundays at 9:30am in the Godly Play room.

I know that when I pray, something wonderful happens. Not just to the person or persons for whom I’m praying, but also something wonderful happens to me. I’m grateful that I’m heard.

Maya Angelou

To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.
